Teaching values to our students is more important today than ever. As educators and parents, we are students’ greatest influence and it is our responsibility to teach them to be people with values so that they can grow up to be loving, confident, and respectful adults.
Our British nursery school is the best pre-school experience for your children. At St. George’s we know that academic excellence starts at the very beginning of their education, that’s why we have created an infant programme based on language immersion, stimulating their skills and creating the perfect environment for early learning.

British Curriculum: Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum (EYFS) for children up to 5 years old
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is a British curriculum framework for children from Pre-Nursery (2 years), Nursery (3 years) and Reception (4 years) courses. The curriculum is structured around seven key areas of learning. The three main areas are:
- Personal, social and emotional development.
- Communication and language
- Physical development
Specific areas include the skills and knowledge essential for children to successfully participate in society. The four specific areas are:
- Language
- Mathematics
- Understanding the world
- Artistic expression and design
The EYFS emphasises learning through play, encouraging curiosity and exploration in a safe and stimulating environment. Continuous assessment and monitoring of individual progress are essential components of this approach, enabling teaching to be tailored to each child’s needs.
Equivalence with the British system
Pre-school education in Spain is divided into two cycles: the first for children aged 0-3 years and the second for children aged 3-6 years. The equivalence with the British EYFS system is clear in terms of age and developmental stages. The first cycle in Spain is aligned with the Early Years stage of the EYFS, while the second cycle corresponds to the Foundation stage. Both systems share the aim of preparing children for formal education, although they differ in their structure and assessment methods. The transition between the two systems can be made easily, as both emphasise holistic development in the early academic years.
