On Friday 25th March, we welcomed all our St. George Madrid community to our Ukraine Charity Fair, which aim was to raise funds for World Central Kitchen. More than 50 stalls were organised by students, parents and staff from across our school community selling cakes, books, toys, Ukraine-themed jewellery, and much more. We also had stalls collecting items to help both in Ukraine and displaced families here in Spain. It was great to see the whole community getting involved, led by our student body.
All students who ran stalls took responsibility for their own organisation and many put hours of preparation into getting their items ready for the big sale. Once we opened the doors on Friday afternoon, it was no exaggeration to say the event was heaving, with students from across the school having the opportunity to attend as well as parents and visitors.
Many thanks to all those who helped out and contributed to the stalls, we raised a staggering amount through the fair, which has already been donated to World Central Kitchen.
