At St. George, we believe that teaching values to our children is more important now than ever. As educators and parents, we influence our children hugely and it is our responsibility to teach them core values so they may grow up to be caring, confident, and respectful adults.
In the pillars of our school community, Respect would be the centre, followed by responsibility, kindness, being fair, and personal best. We held a contest open to all St. George students from Years 1 to 6. Their task was to design a character to represent one of our 5 core values. As an additional challenge, we asked children to match their character to some of the IB learner profile traits. These winning characters will bring our values to life, becoming an integral part of primary school. We were blown away by the effort and creativity that went into all of the entries; it was very difficult to choose the winners!
